Our final show.

19 Apr

It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Radio For Help will be playing our last show on Friday May 23rd at the Pawn Shop in Edmonton in support of Ten Second Epic’s final tour. We would like to send a huge thank you to Ten Second Epic for allowing us to share in this very special night.

We take this opportunity to thank all of our fans and friends who have supported us over the last 10 years. Without your inspiration and passion for the band, without you coming to our concerts, without you buying our music and merchandise, and without you telling your friends about us, we would not have been able to live out this dream as long as we did. It was truly an honour to have been invited into your lives through the wonder that is music.

Thanks to the numerous people in the music industry who helped us out. We developed great friendships with many of you and could not have done what we did with this band without you.  To all the bands, promoters, record stores, radio stations, TV stations, audio engineers, journalists and video production companies, thank you for the role you played in our success and all the fun along the way.

We would like to also thank former members Chris Webb, Justin Pelletier and Russ Goosen, who all played a role in the building of a foundation for Radio For Help in the early years and motivating us to continue on and achieve the level of success we did.

We would like to send very special thanks to our good friend and longtime producer Randor Lin. As the producer of our last three albums he became an unofficial member of the band, helping us write, record, and define our Radio For Help sound.

Thank you to our families and loved ones. Words cannot express our appreciation and gratitude for your never-ending support each and every step of the way.  We love you.

Thank you all for helping us to live out our dreams. We have toured the country, performed to thousands of fans, played alongside some of our favourite artists and at some of our favourite festivals, had our music played on the radio, performed on television, and even won an Edmonton Music Award. It has been one of the greatest adventures of our lives and we feel truly blessed to have been able to share it with you.

“Make Today” nominated for Pop Album of the Year!

9 Feb

Radio For Help’s album “Make Today” has been nominated for Pop Album of the Year at the 2012 Edmonton Music Awards. “We are extremely honored to be nominated for the second year in a row”, says singer Mike Erickson. “It’s always a good feeling to be recognized for all the hard work you put into something. Make Today was definitely a journey. There were a lot of long nights in the studio fine tuning every lyric and every piece of the arrangement.  A lot of the songs came from a very personal and emotional place, so it’s great to have all of that be noticed”

The Edmonton Music Awards show will take placeSaturday, April 28, 2012 at The Royal Alberta Museum

Fellow nominees include:  Doug Hoyer  – “Walks With The Tender And Growing Night”, Colleen Brown – “Dirt”, Se7en Sided – “Life On Hold”, and Lisa Nicole Grace - “Prairie Belle”.
